Flickers and Flyers Community Interest Company opened its doors in 2016, and since then we’ve proudly supported the sporting and recreational needs of gymnasts and trampoline gymnasts across Merseyside. We’re the perfect place for children of all abilities to get involved in the sports they love — and to have a fantastic time doing it!

Director and Head Coach of the club, Sally brings over 20 years of experience working with schools and clubs across Merseyside. She is a fully qualified British Gymnastics coach in Acrobatics, Trampolining, Free-G, Fundamentals, and DMT, and also serves as the club’s county judge for floor and vault.

Alongside leading the club, Sally is our in-house tutor, delivering engaging and informative CPD workshops. These sessions are designed for coaches, teachers, and parents who want to deepen their understanding of the sport and support young gymnasts with confidence.

When you’re looking for someone you can truly rely on, look no further than Sarah Cavanagh. As our club’s Welfare Officer, Sarah is here to support everyone — not only our young gymnasts, but also our staff, parents, and all members of the club. We couldn’t think of anyone more perfect for the role!

Sarah is a parent of two and an ex- Secondary School Science teacher. After leaving teaching, she dedicated her career to supporting vulnerable adults in gaining independence — experience that makes her compassionate, approachable, and exceptionally skilled in her role here at the club.

At Flickers and Flyers CIC we want to help spread our knowledge and years of experience to others. From parents of the club who want to help their children at home or coaches and teachers that want to improve their Gymnastics lesson for a more fun and engaging lesson, we have got you covered.
We now offer a fantastic Continued personal development workshop. This

workshop will give you all the tools you need to feel confident in assisting a Gymnastics session.

Both our children have trampolined with The club since they were 2 years old. Our daughter age 7 and son age 5 they both absolutely love their sessions. They have made the most progress over the years and the lessons are always done with the children's enjoyment being the most important factor. They love following where they are up on their levels and the coaches always Keep them updated on how they are doing in a child-friendly way. They have also had fantastic birthday parties at the club which were made exactly to our children's requests! The team have also been amazing over lockdown, constantly keeping us updated about what was going on, providing additional coaching for the children when we returned and even recording birthday messages for Josh! Thank you for all that you do for them!

We have worked with Sally and the rest of the Flickers and Flyers team since the club began to rent our sports hall in 2016. Since this time the relationship between the school and club has been amazing. They have ran regular curriculum and after-school programs for all of our children from age 2-11. Their teaching of trampolining and gymnastics in an inclusive and energetic way so it's accessible and fun for all pupils. We have had over 100 of our children attend trampolining clubs since they've started, many of which have gone on to become members of the club. Sally and her team has also been invaluable in their community work for the school; offering their time to assist in charity events, sports days and well being programmes. We look forward to this relationship continuing with flickers and flyers in the future!
